Trying to get the Skyscale has been the closest to grinding I've done in GW2 so far. I do pretty much everything in the game because there is a bit of fun involved as well as a long term goal. 90% of what I did for Skyscale was anti-fun however. It's listed as a reward for finishing the 'A New Friend' achievement, but yeah it doesn't even show up on the mount preview panel. The skin is from a collection called a new look I got it from the trainer after finishing the skyscale unlock she sent a mail about rifts after speaking with her the collection unlocks. It is very much an optional mount, but is a pretty useful flying mount for many of us, combining much of what the springer and the griffon do in a package. It takes a while to get since it is often thought of as a legendary mount. For a new player it takes a lot longer due to materials required farming for. While I'd personally be rather happy to never use the Skyscale again on account of it kind of breaking the game, I'm sadly obliged to pick it up anyway as a I love the idea of raising my own mount and parts of this are fun. But two back to back "Easter Egg Hunts" really kicks it off wrong. The parts where you actually interact with your skyscale are what we need more of. Guild Wars 2: Secrets of the Obscure offers an updated path to unlocking your [[skyscale mount. You'll use the skyscale and new Masteries to explore epic aerial maps. At launch, two new explorable zones will take you to the skies over Tyria; a new map will become available as the story progresses in future releases. *Please note that existing also skyscale does not require as precise aiming as springer does. i mean have you ever tried to land on some branch with springer, and repeatedly missed it? with skyscale you do not have that problem, because you can carefully just maneuver skyscale on top of the branch. and if you miss, you just drop down a bit rather than having to try again all the way from the ground. 1-8 on Num pad. I guess it is the benefit of a full-size keyboard. I just hit the button with my thumb when using the mount.
